School Donations
St. Joseph's School for the Blind
Jersey City, NJ
St. Joseph's School for the Blind is located on a 3 acre campus. The School is a 75,000 sq. ft., 2-story, ADA-compliant facility which opened in 2007. The spacious classrooms all include a bathroom. The school has a heated therapeutic pool, full gym and cafeteria, a technology enrichment center, library, physical, occupational and speech therapy rooms, music and art rooms, sensory room and a Parent Resource Center. Adult Services are located in Concordia House adjacent to the School. Its fully equipped, ADA-compliant kitchen and model living spaces are used throughout the day to teach practical life skills such as cooking, laundry and basic home care. The campus includes a multi-sensory playground with adaptive equipment accessible to children with special needs. The playground provides therapeutic as well as recreational opportunities.
Summer Adventure
Camp marcella
Today Camp Marcella comprises over 200 acres of woodland surroundings and a clear fish laden lake, with all of its facilities designed for the best possible care of visually impaired children. The camp is located in one of the few areas of New Jersey that has not been touched by suburban sprawl. Camp is adjacent to the Pequannock Watershed, Farny State Park and a large Boy Scout Reservation. The combination of abundant wildlife, woods, lakes and serenity brings campers to an idyllic setting. The objective of NJ Camp for Blind Children Inc. is to provide, promote and maintain a recreational, educational and rehabilitative camp primarily for visually impaired children.
DUMONT HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR AWARDS / SCHOLARSHIPS
Dumont Lions Charities, Inc. donates two $1,000.00 scholarships to Dumont high school Seniors every year. This year’s recipients were Kirsten Crimmins and Sara Koster. Pictured with them is the President, Michael Afftrunti on the right and V.P. George Belhumer on the left. The Dumont Lions Charities would like to congratulate both girls and wish them the best of everything in their upcoming college experience.

Golf outing
This year's golf outing was held at Black Bear Golf Course in Sussex, NJ. On a day that called for rain, the weather forecasters has it all wrong. The weather turned out to be beautiful for the second annual golf outing and tricky tray. Be ready to golf on September 11, 2024. Please see more information under the events tab. Thank you
